Rebirth...

Lately there has been lots of feedback about me as a person. I have concluded that the problem is ME, I am the root of all my current problems & issues. Have to tackle it one by one.

I need to 'grow up', and live more in the real world rather than in a world that I have managed to lie/con/bluff myself into believing. Life has been good to me, all I have ever done is taken it for granted.

No more, no more, need to buck up me-myself-I to get to the next level in life. How did i let myself get to this level?

I am so sorry.

Its the middle of the day, in the middle of the week now, am sitting here staring at my screen thinking of ever so many things - work, money, campaigns, brands, girlfriend, status, religion, sin, god, cooking, alcohol, life... and so much more (Stay tuned)...

Baked my first batch of cookies during the weekend, a total of 48 cookies - Choc chip cookies. Rated an average PASS because it is wayyyy too sweet for the regular asian taste buds. Will make another batch in this couple of days with a new improved dosage of sugar. Am i turning gay? hahahaha - Hopefully not, I guess its a phase, and its interesting.

Got a new book, 'The End of Faith' by Sam Harris - the first page caught my attention. Its still too early to say whether its a good book or bad book but hey, I am reading.... Religion has always puzzled me. (I will keep this debate seperate)

Work is getting the better of me. Stay tuned its a story that is about to have a twist to it.

ahh... the complexities of life. Want a cookie?

Potential?

Ever wondered what your potential is? Ever wondered where your limits are? Ever wondered when should we 'stop' & admit that we are not going to go anywhere. Ever wondered about your 'faith'? do you even believe in faith?

I have always felt that I am the hero of my own 'life movie' and we have all been pre-programed to believe that

1. Heroes don't die & are indestructible
2. Heroes gets what they want (eventually)
3. Heroes are not bound the laws of mere mortals

There is ONE SLIGHT FLAW in this mindset, everyone is their own HERO - no one should die. Hmmmm hence I am coming to the conclusion that LIFE IS LIFE and if you fuck up, you die.

Should I then give up my dreams and wishes?

Whats my faith?

The 'state' of affairs.

Just got out of the car after 1.5 hours in a jam trying to get to my client's office (normally takes me 30 minutes)

The country is going down the drain i tell you. This morning's jam is caused by some 'unauthorized' rally that is 'supposed' to happen in front of the damn leaky parliament. 2 political factions in Malaysia (1 in power, 1 vying to be in power) - you could imagine the amount of dirt being thrown around (Food fight ala'carte).

To cut the long story short, the people are being pulled into a shit storm of 'spot the fake' - from 'explosive Mongolian conspiracies' that reaches up to the upper echelon of the political world, to gay rapes in the ranks of the rival political faction.

All this happening when the world's economy is coming to a screeching halt. *Sigh*, thats Malaysia for you - don't have the blinking brain power to prioritize & focus on whats important. What's a normal tax-payer to do in spite of such stupidity?

Clients are now having a field day cutting marketing budgets, in preparation for the impending 'hard & fast' recession that will strike poor'ol Malaysia.

*grumble grumble grumble*

Being recognized...

Winning awards is one of the key tasks in my kind of role and industry (not to mention the potential employers kicking down doors to get to you)

Recently our hard work paid off. One of our campaigns kicked-ass [in New York] and got a 'creative recognition' even though we were a media agency [in Malaysia].

A little bit about the product - Rexona has this range of spray-on deodorant for young girls. The campaign started in the pits [arm pit that is]. The brief was really brief [short], 'Engage young girls' and 'Move bottles off the shelf' (WTF right?)

Well no worries, with our 'never say die' attitude - we proceeded to:
first, identify what make's girls tick [or smell] - An insight
Second, create a digital idea surrounding that insight - A big idea
Third, get client to buy into our idea
Fourth, execute & make all stake holders happy

To cut things short, Lo' and B'hold 'our baby' - www.Rexteen.com.my

A few months later, we got this little surprise in our inbox from the Interactive Media Awards [here]

I even got my lil'ol name on it, if you squint you should see it at the 2nd row, bottom bit of text. Listed under Account Management.

It was a great team effort, & everyone pulled it off nicely.

Wonderful to be recognized...

My life thus far...
